Thanks

Steven Miller on May 18th, 2013 at 8:12 pm

@Tadeo – This is Steven from Disney Theme Park Merchandise. There are four medium sized figures this year. You can see them in the image gallery in this article – http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2013/05/new-merchandise-coming-summer-2013-to-disney-parks/

We didn’t offer a pre-sale of figures this year for Star Wars Weekends. If you contact our Merchandise Guest Services team, they may be able to assist. You can find their contact information in this article:

I can’t seem to find the Cars Star Wars merchandise (theCars characters made up in SW garb.) and no Cast Members seem to know where they are either. Anyone have any idea? It’s our last day today and I’d love to find them

Tom on May 19th, 2013 at 2:21 pm

How much do the medium sized figures usually go for?

Deborah on May 19th, 2013 at 2:25 pm

The Star Wars image above is delightful! Is this available as a poster? Sadly, we did not get to attend Star Wars Weekends, but hopefully, the next time, we’ll be there.

Jennifer on May 19th, 2013 at 11:26 pm

Hey there. We will be at Hollywood Studios this weekend and was wondering if they were doing the carbonite statues like last year? For $99 you were made into a figure in carbonite.

Scotland, the Newest Marketplace for 2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Our team of chefs and beverage experts are cranking up fast for the 2013 Epcot International Food Wine Festival, with food, wine, beers and cocktails taking center stage around the World Showcase Promenade and all across Walt Disney World Resort.

Look for classic Scottish dishes that are still in the development phase, but the cocktail of choice will be a Rusty Nail, a popular Scotch whisky martini that is simply Scotch and Drambuie. Scotland is just one of more than 25 ethnic and specialized marketplaces – and we’re happy that Brazil returns this year, a crowd favorite that was missing in 2012.
“Pork

Hawaii is back with the fab pork slider, as well as the vegan Terra Marketplace that debuted last year.

Favorite celeb chefs are back. Look for Jamie Deen, Robert Irvine, Gale Gand, Art Smith, Buddy Valastro, Bryan Voltaggio, Warren Brown and others to make appearances at special events and on stage in the Festival Center. Wine tastings, mixology seminars, cheese seminars, live entertainment and the engaging Ocean Spray Cranberry Bog give guests of all ages plenty to see and do. More than 270 chefs and culinary stars from the U.S. will be there.

The 46-day festival runs September 27-November 11. You can start making reservations in August at 407-WDW-FEST (date to be announced soon)! Keep an eye on www.epcotfoodfestival.com for updates.

24 Hours of Fun and Entertainment in Three Disney Parks

We’re just one week away from our next Limited Time Magic event, the huge Disney Parks Monstrous Summer All-Nighter on May 24! Pam Brandon and Steven Miller will be along later to share details about some of the great food and merchandise you can expect to find, but first I’d like to tell you more about the special entertainment we have in store.
Mike and Sulley of Disney•Pixar's 'Monsters University' Will Join the Fun at Magic Kingdom Park During Disney Parks' Monstrous Summer All-Nighter
Everything kicks-off with special opening moments in front of the parks, leading up to 6 a.m., and then you’re off and running for 24 hours of fun!* Many of your usual favorite characters and shows will be happening throughout the day, but we also have some extra things planned just for this event.

At Magic Kingdom Park, Mike and Sulley from this summer’s new Disney•Pixar film “Monsters University” will pop in to “scare up” some excitement at the “Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It!” Street Party, and serve as Grand Marshals during a special pre-parade, complete with a cheer squad, flag corps and a marching band playing the MU Fight Song! You can catch this procession just ahead of each of that day’s two performances of the “Celebrate a Dream Come True” Parade. In Tomorrowland, the Rockettower Plaza Stage plays host to a “Monster Mania” DJ Dance Party from 4 – 9 p.m. and “Monsters University Movie Night” from 11 p.m. – 5 a.m., featuring back-to-back showings of the original “Monsters, Inc.” and an opportunity to meet Mike and Sulley! Finally, you can dance the night away at Disney’s Up All Night Dance Party at Cinderella Castle, keeping things lively from 2 – 5:45 a.m.

At Disneyland Resort, the fun spreads out across two Disney Parks! Disney California Adventure park is having a Hollywood Viewing Party, screening “Monsters, Inc.” inside Muppets Theater and hosting Mad T Party outside in Hollywood Land. Both start at 9 p.m. and continue through the night. Elsewhere, the “Monsters University” gang will be out and about with the new MU float from the Pixar Play Parade, happy to pose for pictures with you.

Disneyland park celebrates with a Disney Character Pajama Party, starting after midnight in Mickey’s Toontown with classic Disney cartoons, a Mickey Mouse Party Zone with DJ and activities for kids, plus goodies available for purchase, like hot chocolate, milk and cookies and other treats. Over in Tomorrowland, there will be Star Wars characters to meet and the TLT “Monstrous” Dance Club at Tomorrowland Terrace, where you can keep the party going from midnight to 5:30 a.m.

During the All-Nighter, the Royal Theatre at Fantasy Faire hosts a Royal Swing Ball, with a live band from 10 p.m. – 1:40 a.m., and beginning June 15 the “Jump, Jive, Boogie Swing Party” will return to the Royal Theatre for select nights during the summer. Keep an eye on the calendar page on Disneyland.com for dates and information.

So whether you’re heading to Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort for the Disney Parks Monstrous Summer All-Nighter, you’re in for a monster-sized good time!

*Hours of operation 6:00 a.m. on 5/24/13 to 6:00 a.m. on 5/25/13; subject to capacity restrictions. Only select attractions, entertainment and services will be available. Valid theme park admission required. Subject to restrictions and change without notice.

‘Eye-mazing’ Merchandise for Monstrous Summer All-Night Party at Disney Parks on May 24, 2013

Logo Shirt Featuring Mike Wazowski, Part of the ‘Eye-mazing’ Merchandise for Monstrous Summer All-Night Party

I can’t wait for the upcoming all-night party that will kick off a Monstrous Summer at Disney Parks on May 24, 2013. I had a blast at last year’s 24-hour party with my fiancée, so I imagine this one will be even more “eye-mazing!” As part of Limited Time Magic, Disney Theme Park Merchandise has created some commemorative items featuring Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan, stars of Disney•Pixar’s upcoming film “Monsters University.” Here are some things you can expect starting May 24.

We will have a new logo shirt featuring Mike, created just for the 24 hour party. The shirts will be similar on each coast except for a small logo change on the sleeve (either “Magic Kingdom” for guests in Florida or “Disneyland Resort” for guests in California). This shirt will also be offered on our Disney Parks online store from May 24-27 at http://www.DisneyStore.com/ParkEvents. (Please note that items will be shipped in 6-8 weeks from time of order.)
Ear Hats, Part of the ‘Eye-mazing’ Merchandise for Monstrous Summer All-Night Party

My favorite items are the Sulley-inspired Disney ear hat (it’s furry!) and Mike’s one-eyed novelty sunglasses. We will also be offering an embroidered Disney ear hat with a “Monstrous Summer” logo that day.
Mike Wazowski Sunglasses, Part of the ‘Eye-mazing’ Merchandise for Monstrous Summer All-Night Party

The apparel, ear hats and sunglasses will be released at the Emporium and select locations in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort. At Disneyland Resort, look for these items in Emporium at Disneyland park and Elias Co. at Disney California Adventure park, among other select locations.
Special Mike Wazowski Cupcake Available at the Monstrous Summer All-Night Party

The Consumables team will offer some treats inspired by Mike and Sulley, including blue and green cotton candy, cake pops, and decorative candy apples. My favorite (mostly because they gave me a sample to try) is the delicious cupcake complete with green icing and a chocolate logo square. Look for select goodies in locations like the Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort, Candy Palace at Disneyland park or Trolley Treats at Disney California Adventure park.

All of these items will be available for a “limited time” only beginning May 24, while supplies last.

Finally, I invite you to follow the Disney Parks Blog on May 24, as I will be traveling coast-to-coast to party in three Disney Parks that day. I look forward to seeing friends on both the east and west coasts! If you are in the parks, please say hello!

Ivanejoy on May 17th, 2013 at 1:24 pm

Will there be special buttons, which have the monstrous summer logo on them, like the ones they handed out for leap day?? That would be awesome if there were going to be some.

Steven Miller on May 18th, 2013 at 8:37 am

@Ivanejoy – I unfortunately haven’t heard if there will be buttons. Glad to hear that you plan on joining us for the party. I hope to see you.

Jonathan on May 17th, 2013 at 1:24 pm

Three parks in one day? You’re going to be busy!!! Speaking of Limited Time Magic, I’ve been thinking about the upcoming week long 4th of July Celebration…is the “Celebrate America” firework soundtrack available on any CD???

Steven Miller on May 18th, 2013 at 8:39 am

@Jonathan – It’s going to be a super fun day! I will have to check with the media developer about your question. I don’t recall seeing that music offered on CD.

Elizabeth on May 17th, 2013 at 2:44 pm

Definitely saw a guest walk into D-Street last night wearing the fuzzy Sulley earhat. What’s up with that, then?

Steven Miller on May 18th, 2013 at 8:42 am

@Elizabeth – Looks like someone wanted to start the party a little early. There were a handful of hats inadvertently placed on the sales floor, yet they have been removed. Look for the hats on May 24 at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

Carrie from CA on May 17th, 2013 at 6:10 pm

Mmmmmmm…. consumables…!

Steven Miller on May 18th, 2013 at 8:43 am

@Carrie – Yes!! My favorite thing! I hope to see you at the party in California.

david on May 17th, 2013 at 9:34 pm

WHOA!!!! Steven…..you are going to be one tired puppy the next day………I WISH I WAS GOING TOO!!!!!! The last time I was at one of the Parks after midnight was 1983 Grad Night at Disneyland!! Special Eats Part of Monstrous All-Nighter Fun at Disney Parks

Of course the Disney chefs had to get in on the Memorial Day weekend fun to kick off a Monstrous Summer at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Magic Kingdom Park, Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park will stay open from 6 a.m., May 24, to 6 a.m. May 25, – which gives us 24 hours to nosh our way through the delightful bites.

We won’t give away all the ideas the chefs have planned, but here are a few:

Special Eats Part of Monstrous All-Nighter Fun at Disney Parks, Featuring a Strawberry 'Eye-Scream Sundae'
Special Eats Part of Monstrous All-Nighter Fun at Disney Parks, Featuring a Chocolate 'Monsters University' Cupcake
Special Eats Part of Monstrous All-Nighter Fun at Disney Parks, Featuring a Mint Chocolate Chip 'Eye-Scream Sundae'

The cupcake craze gets a nod at Gaston’s Tavern in New Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom Park, with a chocolate cupcake topped with tasty “Monsters University” sweets. And we can’t resist the “Eye Scream Sundae” at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and Plaza Restaurant in two flavors – mint chocolate chip or strawberry.

The Launching Pad in Tomorrowland will have two theme drinks, Randall’s Suds and Mike’s Punch.

At the Disneyland Resort, tasty treats are everywhere. From a steak and eggs breakfast at Carnation Café in Disneyland park to a Monster Nacho Dog at Award Weiners at Disney California Adventure park, there are dozens of creations added to menus. We expect lots of guests will be looking for early-morning eats, like the breakfast pizza at Redd’s Pizza Port with eggs, chorizo, roasted tomatillos, mozzarella and pico de gallo. Blue Bayou is adding roasted bourbon shrimp stuffed with Dungeness crab mousse served with spinach, pasta and smoked tomato-habanero-artichoke sauce. Café Orleans has decadent bananas Foster French toast, or, if you must behave, fresh fruit with yogurt and granola.

For breakfast goodies at Disney California Adventure park, Golden Vine Winery Trattoria has a Wine Country breakfast with scrambled eggs, herbed potatoes, biscuit, bacon or sausage and fruit; or spinach frittata made with egg whites. For around-the-clock eating, the potstickers are back at Lucky Fortune Cookery, or head to Pacific Wharf Café for a hearty loaded baked potato soup in a fresh sourdough bread bowl.

Oh, there’s so much more, like the mac-and-cheese flatbread pizza with sun-dried tomato pesto at Boardwalk Pizza Pasta, or the Monstrous Open-Face Turkey Sandwich at Flo’s V-8 Café (brioche piled high with turkey and topped with gravy, cranberry marmalade on the side).

Come hungry, and you can bet there are plenty of delicious eats to keep you going around the clock.

Fantasyland Theatre Through the Years at Disneyland Park

As we gear up for the debut of “Mickey and the Magical Map,” the latest and greatest new show at Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland park, it triggered memories from my colleagues about what’s been featured in this popular theatre in years past. Many of them grew up in Southern California. They danced at Videopolis, had a front-row seat to “Animazement” and celebrated the holidays watching “Mickey’s Nutcracker.” Those are only a few of the fun shows, so check out this video and take a trip down memory lane. Enjoy!

I fondly remember many of these shows, Especially Plane Crazy, Beauty and the Beast, and Mickey’s Nutcracker.

I’m really looking forward to Mickey and the Magical Map.

christine from CA on May 17th, 2013 at 6:54 pm

I remember all these shows. Going to the theater was always one of favorite things to do during our family trips to Disneyland. Plane Crazy and Mickey’s Nutcracker were the best. All I wanted do was just watch the shows over and over as a kid. So excited for the new show to come.

Brett on May 17th, 2013 at 11:10 pm

Gosh, I miss a lot of those shows. They defined a pleasant summer outdoor evening with great sounds. Dick Tracy was different and a lot of fun. And Videopolis presented the neon and pastels of the 1980′s well, introducing the tradition of wearing nighttime glowsticks.

Aaron on May 18th, 2013 at 4:36 am

Great video! Mickey’s Nutcracker was my absolute favorite show on this stage.

Theresa from CA on May 17th, 2013 at 6:53 pm

Thank you! Thank you! My AP just expired and I was so bummed wondering when I would get to go to Disneyland again because I can’t afford to renew it. Now I get to go for a few hours in a couple weeks! Yay!

Karen from CA on May 17th, 2013 at 6:55 pm

Wendy on May 17th, 2013 at 7:15 pm

My Mickey loving child is so excited to attend this event! Thank you for the fun and the magic we are sure to experience in only the way Disney can.

Fred from CA on May 17th, 2013 at 7:18 pm

I may have done the same thing as Dinah. I’m hoping that it will work out okay…

Julie on May 17th, 2013 at 7:22 pm

Yay, I finally got in on a meet-up!!! My son is going to be so excited…he loves Mickey and we will be blocked out for the summer soon. Thank you so much!

Alicia on May 17th, 2013 at 7:27 pm

what time does the show start? it says check in is at 4:30-5:15
because I might want to ride some rides before the show.

Erin Glover on May 17th, 2013 at 8:45 pm

Alicia – You must check in before 5:15 and we will all go to the theatre together. After the show, you are welcome to remain in the park as our guest.

China on May 17th, 2013 at 7:28 pm

My request got accepted and I printed out that page. However I noticed that it does not have my information anywhere on it. I have been checking my email and I never received the confirmation email.

China on May 17th, 2013 at 7:44 pm

Since I didn’t get the confirmation but I did print out the “Registration Successful” sheet I will try not to worry because it says this:

“A printed copy of this page or the email confirmation will be used as confirmation to attend the event.”

However I wish I had gotten an actual email with my name on it. Is there any way my email can be re-sent?

Cindy on May 17th, 2013 at 7:47 pm

I have a couple of questions.. just to clarify is this admission into the park or do we purchase a ticket? Ie I have an annual pass but my guest does now.. And are we allowed in the park all day or are we only allowed in at check in(4:30)?

:]

Denisse on May 17th, 2013 at 7:48 pm

Nooo, I’ve been waiting for this meet-up and missed it. Oh well next time!

Kristina on May 17th, 2013 at 7:54 pm

Fred from CA on May 17th, 2013 at 8:19 pm

I received my confirmation e-mail.

Thanks for this opportunity.

Martha from CA on May 17th, 2013 at 8:45 pm

Hi Erin,
If people are unable to make it, you don’t reach capacity, and my son and I are in the park that day. Can we gain entry?

April on May 17th, 2013 at 9:22 pm

Erin, if you end up with an extra space due to the person who signed up twice (see comment 14) I will take it I’ve so wanted to do a meetup but i always seem to just miss out… anyways thanks for great opportunities like this

Rochelle on May 17th, 2013 at 9:26 pm

Didn’t see this meet up in time, but am still in awe from last year’s Nightmare Before Christmas event!

Brian on May 17th, 2013 at 10:11 pm

Does our two year old count towards our head count?

Nikolas on May 18th, 2013 at 3:30 am

Erin- Is there any chance of getting on a stand by list?

Join Us for a Monstrous Morning Meet-Up at Walt Disney World Resort

UPDATE: This event has filled to capacity. Please CLICK HERE to view a list of the accepted event attendees. If you are on the list and do not receive a confirmation email by 5 p.m. EST on Monday, please contact us at WDW.BlogMeetUps@disney.com.

We’re about a week away from our first-ever three park Monstrous Summer 24-hour “all-nighter” at Disney Parks. And to kick things off at Walt Disney World Resort, we’re offering a special experience for Disney Parks Blog readers.
Join Us for a Monstrous Morning Meet-Up at Walt Disney World Resort

Our Monstrous Morning Meet-Up begins at 4:30 a.m. on May 24, and it will include the opportunity to see an early preview screening of Disney•Pixar’s new movie “Monsters University” before it opens in theatres in 3D on June 21. There will be plenty of fun, including a Monstrous donut bar and – like all Disney Parks Blog meet-ups – a surprise or two added on to what is already planned at Magic Kingdom Park.

Space is limited, so RSVP now by sending us an email with your name, address, and if you’re inviting a guest to WDW.BlogMeetUps@disney.com.

Also, there are a few things you should know:

  • All participants who sign up for the event must be 18 years or older, but guests do not need to be 18 or older.
  • Limit one guest per registrant.
  • We will send an email to individuals whose valid RSVPs are received by us via email before we reach the planned capacity to confirm their attendance for the event.
  • If confirmed, it will be necessary for the registrant and guests to check in at the front entrance of Magic Kingdom Park for access to the event. The confirmation will include those details.
  • Valid photo I.D. will be required at check-in.
  • Meet-up confirmations are non-transferrable and have no cash value.
  • Confirmation will be for the accepted registered person plus their number of specified guests.
  • If you do not receive an email from us confirming your reservation, then your RSVP was not accepted.
  • The event and individual appearances are subject to change or cancellation.

This post will be updated when capacity has been reached. Please note the event is subject to change or cancellation without notice.

Hope to see you there.
